So you want to beta test your app?
One of the best parts of my job is getting to give clients - who, just a few months ago, came to us with a raw idea - a first look at their beta. Now, in most cases when we are referring to a "beta," what we are describing is an app that has all of the functionalities and designs of the original Scope of Work developed.
I'm sure it's no secret that the inner workings of a mobile app are extremely delicate and need to be crafted very carefully. Sometimes there are unintended effects when one chunk of code conflicts with another. But it's difficult to identify and fix these unintended effects until you're able to step back and really take a good look at it. The very nature of the beta is to give both the client and 0ur team the opportunity to step out of CREATE mode and step into SCRUTINIZE mode! So that's why we leave plenty of time to test.
Here is a quick guide to maximizing your testing period to ensure the final product is exactly what you had hoped for!
1. Be Explicit - send screenshots when possible!
2. Don't Assume - ask questions!
3. Respect Deadlines!
